Joe Galen Art cds

Joe Galen, (Joseph Galen Lindley) asked if I could help with his midyear art show, by creating thirty individual covers for a sample of some of his music he intended to give away. The concept was that having made a wall mounted display of these handmade C.D covers then people would come along read the instruction sheet and take away a C.D leaving in its place a gift as a sort of payment. I using Joe's chosen image created the themed sets using Photoshop creating a pleasing piece to look at when in its entirety but as the process of swapping started to occur it degraded into a comment on how people on the whole don't put in the same effort as what is taken out.
This concept did work in so far as all the C.Ds did disappear but unfortunately leaving behind them a wall of mainly rubbish. It was not at all a failure as Joe got his C.Ds and music out to people who may never have come across him before, but people, as ever didn't bother to put effort into the 'payment' for the free C.D.
